Let Me Get This Straight: Defensive End Edition

11 Tackles is a mighty laxative

Let me get this straight. Andre Carter, the big-money free agent DE from the 49ers who was sitting on 23 tackles and 2 sacks coming into last Sunday's game is now skipping through the daisies?

The analysis from the Post and a look at his career stats reveals to me that surgery two years ago changed Andre Carter from an upper-middle tier end to a middling player, certainly not worthy of of the Redskins Standard Form Contract #1 for 30 million dollars, a contract any serious football fan knows he won't see the end of but while he's still enjoying that fat signing bonus the Redskins will be taking a dead money hit. Look again at his stats. Take out the injury-shortened year and his tackles are pretty much on pace this year for his average. So if he is not going to give me Leonard Little or Julius Peppers numbers of tackles, he goddamn better give me Leonard Little or Julius Peppers numbers of sacks because otherwise the money was pretty much wasted.

Andre, Troy was wrong to say don't worry about the number, just play football. Like you, Troy is getting paid to play football and not paying in time and money to consume the product so worry about the frakking number.

And Skin Patrol is right, that's a frightening picture of Andre and I would not say this stuff to his face.
