Not a Single Blitz

Think about that

Gregg Williams had to game plan against the fourth best scoring and yardage offense, an offense that has been shredding opponents, they set an NFL record with 34 fourth quarter points against the Bears two weeks ago.

His solution, with that questionable Redskins secondary that looked so awful last year and reverted to 2006 form in the second half of the Giants game?

Jam the receivers at the line, stuff the zones in the secondary and get QB pressure from the front four defensive linemen.

Gregg Williams did not call a single blitz in that game. The Redskins managed five sacks and Jon Kitna averaged zero point eight yards per passing play, his passer rating was more than 100 points below his performance the week before.
