News and notes from the world of the Washington Redskins

Master4Caster at Running Redskins sums it exactly. I was screaming that Gibbs should have gone for it on 4th and 1 at the end of the game. If you can't get 36 inches with the snap count and behind that meatline, go home. They nearly blew it, letting the Jaguars go downfield and score.

Welcome back Skinsaphrenia after a short hiatus while David moved:

Let's see. We got Clinton Portis back in the grove. We now got Santana Moss back in the groove. Chris Cooley got a little highlight reel material. B. Lloyd and Antwaan Randle El are still getting warmed up. The o-line didn't give up a sack or commit a penalty in the last game. Andre Carter finally registered a sack. Adam Archuleta didn't get burned too bad (I think). Al Saunders is starting to dig into his playbook. Sean Taylor didn't spit on anyone. Derrick Frost shanked one. Looks like we're back in the groove!

Rich at Tandler's Redskins Blog is also back after a week off. He is pushing the Jaguars game as one of the, if not the best game ever at Redskins Stadium. With the weak passing defense in the game, I'm not sure I agree. I'll put together my own list and we'll put it to a vote. He also previews the giant Giant receivers.

Jason La Canfora at Redskins Insider gives us a review of recent Giants games, and an interesting anecdote about Emmitt Smith, struggggggling for relevance.

zknower at Hogs Haven appears also not to be so worried about LaVar's "motivation" to play the Redskins. Dale Lindsey and Shawn Springs smacked LaVar down openly in a presser yesterday, which is odd for a Gibbs-coached team. They must really be happy he's gone.

Dan at Redskin Rumblings is dropping out. He runs two other blogs that dominate and is letting the Redskins blog go for now. This is a loss. Get over there, drop and comment and tell him to stick it out, even if he only goes weekly. We'll miss the voice in the fray. I invited him to make a guest post here whenever he wants, and to get a Hogs Haven account so he can post diaries.

Zach at Redskins MVN looks at the Al Saunders' turnaround. Winning sure is a good deodorant.

Lee at The Redskin Report gives us a shorthand preview of the Giants game. Bet you didn't know Clinton's next rushing TD will be the 50th of his career.

DC SportsChick exemption, never off-topic. Washington Capitals fan that she is, she brings us select NHL team previews:

New York Rangers: Puffnuts and his band of overrated Pussycats
New York Islanders: You're kidding, right?
Pittsburgh Penguins: Heroes of the Mulletman Militia
Philadelphia Flyers: Assclowns of the Atlantic Division

It's Giants week! Get ready for a big game.
