Redskins Marketing Strategery

Nice work guys

More bacn from the Redskins, at least two problems here. First, note the highlight. That is a link out to an interview with newly signed Redskins cornerback Deanelo Hall, wonder if Deanelo is related to DeAngelo.

Then look above the detail, see the Redskins Rally Rags? I'm not as against them as much as Rich Tandler is, I have several white Eagles towels I got at Eagles Stadium over the years, they were mostly handed out when the Eagles clinched the division or in the playoffs. So even though there is no question towel waving is in fact associated with the Steelers, it is not like they have a lock and should not be granted the exclusive franchise.

But seriously Redskins marketing guys, really? Isn't handing out burgundy towels to wave at games two weeks late and like the Costanza shrimp cocktail comeback? Would this not have made more sense to have at the game against the team that actually holds the towel waving tradition?

And rudely brought it to our house? Would it not have been funny, as Matt Terl at the ORB (Official Redskins Blog) imagined, to frustrate bumblebee Steelers fans and their gold towels by swallowing them up into a you know burgundy and gold waving display of Redskins spirit? Even if Washington had still lost, football fans appreciate the little victories when the big ones are out of reach, making those Steeler fan dirtbags drop their towels even for one quarter would have been nice.


If the Redskins want to get back to a giveaway tradition, give me yellow seat cushions any day.
