It's Sad That This Is Still an NFL Story

The truth wants to come out but there are people in the way

How fucked up is this. Iraq and Afghanistan veterans are petitioning the NFL commissioner in the hopes he might persuade president Bush to release documents and testimony related to the death of former Arizona Cardinal safety Pat Tillman in Afghanistan in 2004. The White House won't release them. The Congress can't force the White House to release them. So it's come down to the troops themselves asking the NFL to help.

Pat Tillman was killed by his own squad in Afghanistan on 22 April 2004. The story initially was that he died a heroic death fending off the enemy but within a month that had morphed into elite Ranger forces mistakenly firing in his direction when they were ambushed, then it was a barrage of bullets, now the pattern tightness of the bullet holes in his forehead tends to indicate he was gunned down intentionally.

There are people that know what happened and they are being prevented from speaking.
